I'm lazy so I choose plants and bushes that require minimum maintenance. Out them in and watch them grow.
Oh yeah. I also have another site with cartoon animations I like to do. So expect to see some cartoon characters here. I think it makes things more fun.
When my wife was alive, we spent lots of time in the backyard enjoying the ponds and the garden and the overall view. We have houses surrounding us, but our backyard gradually turned into a paradise where everyone who came over would say how nice and peaceful it was.
When we bought our house the first renovation, I made was building a deck. I tore out our back window and added a sliding glass door. We started out with a above ground pool that you could walk out onto the deck and right to the pool. My wife wanted a pond, but I hesitated because I was afraid it would be too much work.
Eventually I broke down and made a small pond. That turned into the main feature for the overall landscape. Eventually I also added a larger pond and tied the two together.
The pool eventually was removed, and changes began. When my grandson came along, he spent countless hours at the pond. Here he is in the early days. He is now going on 17 as I write this.
My goal is and has always been to landscape on a budget. I would gather rocks from all over and my neighbors would toss rocks into my yard when they were cleaning their yards.
I'll pass along tips I learned along the way so you can landscape on a budget. I'll also bring you any information I think might be useful to you.
